The Platinum loudspeakers by Pelham Custom Loudspeakers (PCL) combine traditional cabinet styling with considered acoustic engineering and Australian craftsmanship.
Designed as a more accessible alternative to the elaborate Alchemy I range, Platinum retains PCL’s commitment to quality materials, carefully engineered construction and rewarding sound reproduction — presented in a simpler, timeless design.
Individually handcrafted in Australia, each pair offers a distinctive combination of natural timber, classic proportions and carefully considered detailing.
Traditional Styling, Distinctive Character
Platinum features a traditional square-profile cabinet, constructed with carefully crafted timber joints and substantial internal felt lining.
Its elegant off-white speaker grille covers approximately two-thirds of the front baffle, giving the loudspeakers a clean, understated appearance.
A hand-painted gold F-hole sound vent provides a distinctive finishing touch, combining visual artistry with the cabinet’s acoustic design.
The smaller, less elaborate cabinet construction allows Platinum to offer a more accessible entry into the PCL range while maintaining the attention to detail expected of handcrafted loudspeakers.
Thoughtful Acoustic Engineering
Behind Platinum’s traditional appearance lies a folded-horn/transmission-line design developed to deliver clear, detailed and engaging sound reproduction.
The distinctive F-shaped vent is positioned at the termination of the acoustic pathway.
Inspired by the sound holes found in traditional stringed instruments, the F-hole reflects PCL’s exploration of vent geometry and air movement within loudspeaker cabinets.
Substantial cabinet construction, carefully selected materials and internal acoustic lining work together to support the loudspeakers’ performance.
Sound Worth Listening To
Platinum combines carefully selected Markaudio drivers with PCL’s distinctive cabinet engineering.
Rated at 50 watts continuous and 100 watts maximum power handling, these passive stand-mount loudspeakers are designed for use with compatible external amplifiers.
Recommended amplifier power: 30–100 watts.
Platinum is designed to maintain clarity and musical detail even at lower listening levels, making it suitable for dedicated home listening spaces and other appropriate indoor environments.
Before delivery, PCL completes a 100-hour driver break-in process, allowing you to enjoy your loudspeakers without undertaking the initial running-in period yourself.
Handcrafted to Order
Each pair of Platinum loudspeakers is individually handcrafted in Australia.
Selected hardwood timber options may be available, including Oak, Merbau and Kauri, subject to availability.
Because each pair is made to order, timber grain, colour and natural character may vary, making every finished pair distinctive.

Ordering & Payment
A deposit is collected at checkout to commence the handcrafted production process.
We’ll keep you informed throughout the build. Once your loudspeakers are completed, an invoice will be issued for the remaining balance.
A complimentary pair of protective calico dust covers is included with every order.

Product Safety Information
Platinum loudspeakers are passive stand-mount audio equipment designed for indoor use with a compatible external amplifier. They contain no built-in powered amplifier.
Important safety precautions:
- Position each loudspeaker on a stable, suitably rated speaker stand capable of supporting its weight and dimensions.
- Ensure stands are placed on a firm, level surface to reduce the risk of tipping.
- Keep loudspeakers and stands away from areas where they may be accidentally knocked over.
- Route speaker cables securely to prevent tripping hazards.
- Switch off the amplifier before connecting or disconnecting speaker cables.
- Do not expose loudspeakers to moisture, excessive heat or direct contact with water.
- Handle and lift carefully, as the solid timber cabinets are heavy.
- This product is not a toy. Keep children from climbing on or pulling against the loudspeakers or stands.
